There is an entire book dedicated only and only to tell you about the past of the various characters which is not very deep to begin with.

We never ever see Richard in his best magical potential as he is always crippled somehow or the other( And does anyone ever sleep in this series ?) Richard ad Kahlan are in love and Zed has a huge appetite, yup we get it.Īlmost every female character either gets beaten up or raped. Richard: "Oh she has green eyes and long beautiful hair, she must be the love of my life".Īfter the third it is a pain to read and I found myself skipping pages and pages of unimaginative dialogue and repeated action. The love story between Richard and Kahlan is predictable. It is almost impossible to stop reading after you start. The world is created beautifully with very few apparent loopholes in the basic structure. The protagonist are likable enough to cheer for. The characters like Zed are fresh and amazing making it worth reading just to see them progress.
